What Is Saizen?

Saizen, also called or Somatropin (rDNA origin) is a human growth hormone (HGH) injectable medication created by the manufacturing company Merck Serono. It is identical to the growth hormone (GH) that is already being produced in the human body. It is a large protein molecule and its chemical makeup includes a 191 amino acid sequence.

Saizen medication is very sensitive to light, temperature and movement. It must be created in a very controlled atmosphere and handled with the utmost of care. It will be injected just under the skin, but never injected directly into a vein or muscle.

For those who are apprehensive about needles, this is a great device. It hides the needle from view before, during and after injection. The pen will show how much medication is left in it and will also show when it is time to change the cartridge.

Lastly, the pen offers patients the ability to set and control how deeply the needle goes into the skin, how fast the injection happens and how fast the needle goes into the skin. The doctor will set the device initially for the patient. Then, the patient’s advisor can show how to adjust what are called the “comfort settings.”

The cool.click ® – 5 mg and 8.8 mg Saizen pen is for those who do not want to use a needle during therapy. This is a needle free delivery option.
